Why Sisterhood?
When the Prophet SAW moved to Madinah, the Ansar, or people of Madinah, were very generous. They enacted a Muakhah, where one of the migrated Muslims were paired with one of the Ansar. These pairs were chosen deliberately and soon became as close as siblings. We want to create a similar bond between sisters of Islam.
What We Do
Girls Thrive for Islam was created by high-schoolers who strived to become better Muslims each and every day. In a world where spirituality slowly fades away, building righteous friendships and finding support in each other is the best way to uplift those around us to continue to thrive for our Deen.
In Girls Thrive for Islam, we heavily focus on creating bonds through Islamic discussions, Halaqas, and numerous other activities to support each other well while maintaining a tight relationship with our Lord.
‘Amr ibn ‘Abasah reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Allah Almighty said: My love is a right upon those who befriend each other for my sake. My love is a right upon those who defend each other for my sake.”
